A Digital-First, Cloud-Native Approach to Transformation Benefits Customers, CSPs

The 5G era will require modernized BSS/OSS with a focus on the digital lifestyle, new business models and cloud adoption.

Next-generation networks such as 5G are a major force behind digital transformations among communications service providers (CSPs) as they explore new revenue streams and ways to improve the customer experience. The problem, however, is that many of the requirements new digital services and networks demand are far too great for the traditional OSS/BSS to handle.

Instead, CSPs need a cloud-native platform that enables a mobile-first digital experience that includes enhanced partner management capabilities and full support for different cloud deployment models, according to a new report by IDC. IDC has found that 50 percent of IT spend will be for digital transformation projects by 2023, which includes the telecommunications industry. And within telecom, requirements include agile systems and processes along with an approach that’s built from the ground up for the digital world.

The newly announced Netcracker 2020 portfolio helps CSPs focus on enabling their customer’s digital lifestyle. The cloud-native solution represents the next evolution in OSS/BSS, offering containerized operations and monetization environments with a focus on a CI/CD approach to software design as CSPs seek out ways to augment or replace their existing systems in order to facilitate new business models between partners, enterprise customers and consumers, as well as hyper-automate increasingly virtualized operations.

These functions are further strengthened by the Netcracker Advanced Analytics platform—secured by a multipronged security framework that has been lauded by the U.S. government—and professional services that facilitate optimal digital transformation results.
