Position Summary:
As a Software Development Team Lead you are primarily responsible for being highly technical and hands-on capable, you will lead development projects across several technologies. Managing the successful delivery of projects will require you to plan, coordinate and lead activities across the full delivery lifecycle. This will include working closely with the department’s Project Managers, coordinating business analysts, architects and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership for one or several accounts for internal and external purposes.
Build good relationship with customer and technical team;
Make sure all technical issues are promptly handled and resolved for continuous, courteous and professional support coverage;
Leader and mentor others
Own and manage maintenance patch/release development lifecycle;
Plan and manage daily priorities of assigned teams: allocate resources, distribute tasks according to priorities, control the results;
Participate in resolution of the complex issues in such areas as integration interface, system performance or environment related;
Carry out support and development projects (post production phase) through the full cycle starting from feature/CR requirements gathering up to implementation and documentation preparation;
Manage and deliver service and functional change requests on time without compromising quality;
Lead development team during software development (implementation) and software maintenance (commercial operations) phases;
Manage internal and external technical communications and task flows around software delivery process, carry out technical meetings, phone calls, conferences, presentations;
Perform software release management and change management functions as required;
Manage development environments;
Interact with other development teams in scope of complex multi-development stream system implementation (provisioning, integrations, billing, etc.);
Evaluate technical effort required to develop specific system functionality when required
Experience and Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a senior/lead developer;
2+ years technical management experience (preferably in software application support)
Knowledge of Java/J2EE/Spring or MS.NET framework;
SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database; reading and writing SQL queries;
Weblogic application server;
Experience in working with CI/CD systems (such as Jenkins);
Unix knowledge (at least on a confident user level);
Experience in dealing with version control systems (SVN, GIT) is preferable;
Successful experience managing IT projects;
Spoken and written English, other languages considered a plus;
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;
Ability to assume a leadership role; owning the job;
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; quick learner;
Consistently sound level of judgment and professional conduct;
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet challenging deadlines;
Knowledge of SW development/implementation methodology (Agile, Waterfall);
Education:
Degree in a relevant IT subject.
