The release of NetCracker Version 8.0 underscores NetCracker Technology’s continuous commitment to serving the Communications Industry through innovation in OSS/BSS offerings.

The 8.0 Release expands NetCracker’s comprehensive services and Network/IT resource management and optimization capabilities into the Workforce Management domain, thereby enabling Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to achieve — for the first time — complete, end-to-end visibility into all processes related to service fulfillment and infrastructure management and assurance, and to optimize the most expensive part of their business — OpEx spent on internal and external personnel. The 8.0 Release also offers CSPs a robust suite of tools for comprehensive business transformation support, including improved order handling, advanced visualization, and pre-built integration adapters.

8.0 Highlights

• Workforce Management Module — An Industry First

The new Workforce Management module provides full-fledged, telco-specific support for CSPs and partner field forces, and automatically manages resource skill sets and dispatch capabilities to ensure customer satisfaction, OpEx and CapEx reduction, prompt deployment of new services, and revenue maximization.

The module contains the following components:

• Workforce Inventory: Acts as a central repository of workforce and human resource information.
• Work Planner: Provides mechanisms for planning and optimizing short- and long-term activities.
• Work Order Management: Enables the storage and management of work order statuses.
• Work Dispatcher: Automates work order delivery and collects performance metrics.
• BAM (Business Activity Monitoring): Provides business performance measurement, resource demand trending, and root cause analysis.
• Order Processing Framework and Service Provisioning Framework extensions
