NetCracker to present at PTC '06 on Delivering the Future of Next Generation Networks

Waltham, Mass. – January 11, 2006 – NetCracker Technology, the global Solution Leader enabling service providers to deliver and manage converged services, today announced that Ian Roy, vice president of product management, will present at the Pacific Telecommunications Council's (PTC) 28th Annual Telecommunications Conference and Exhibition on Tuesday, January 17, at 3:30 p.m. Roy's session, "Challenges of Middleware in OSS in Next Generation Networks," will examine strategies Communications Service Providers (CSPs) need to ensure a robust OSS for their operations.

Roy's session will address the challenges that CSPs face from their attempts to use a strategy of "best of breed" systems "glued" together with middleware software to meet OSS objectives. CSPs need to re-examine these practices in light of IP networks and market demands for converged services and services based on a combination of network and IT domains. This session will highlight what CSPs can do to ensure a robust OSS for their operations.

"The focus of CSPs is changing from cost reduction to growth via convergent service offerings. For a CSP to be successful, it needs to be able to easily introduce products and services and launch them in the market faster than its competition," said Andrew Feinberg, president and CEO of NetCracker Technology. "As the industry's needs evolve, so should the CSPs' strategies to meet those changes. The glued-together architecture approach of the past is not the answer for the future. CSPs need to deploy a more robust OSS strategy, or risk losing in the competitive market."
