NetCracker OSS Solution Improves Bité GSM Operational Efficiency
Major Lithuanian Telecom Provider, Subsidiary of TDC, Shares Results of Successful Implementation
Waltham, MA November 16, 2004 NetCracker Technology, a leading provider of OSS and IT Infrastructure Management solutions, announced today that Bité GSM's implementation of NetCracker's OSS Solution has been extremely successful and that the company is realizing significant resource savings and operations benefits as a direct result of implementing the NetCracker solution. Bité GSM, a 100% owned subsidiary of TDC (formerly TeleDanmark) implemented NetCracker's Network Inventory, Auto Design & Assign and Outside Plant solutions during a two phase cycle in 2003. NetCracker went into production in early 2004. Results achieved to date include a significant improvement in data integrity and the merging of four disparate systems into a single inventory database.
"NetCracker Technology has proved that its OSS Solution was the best solution for us," said Richardas Brazhenas, Technical Director for Bité GSM. "The implementation has been an unqualified success. The level of automation we have been able to achieve with NetCracker has easily increased our overall technical operations productivity by 25 percent or more. In addition, in NetCracker we have found a true partner as we have engaged in a continuous dialog regarding best practices, future enhancements and product feedback. This openness, combined with the rich NetCracker product capabilities, played a large role in securing our successful implementation."
During the initial phase of the implementation, Bité GSM achieved streamlined network planning and network operational processes, more effective utilization of GSM network assets, reduced error rates for internal operations processes, and more efficient service provisioning. During the second phase of the implementation, Bité GSM completed the integration with the remaining GSM network software, completing key business process automation and expanding inventory for network data and Internet services.
Bité GSM has achieved the following benefits to date:
- Consolidated all network inventory information from four separate inventory systems into a single database of record;
- Improved data integrity and data accuracy by 10 percent, achieving a 90 percent data accuracy level;
- Doubled the number of automated business processes, resulting in a 25% improvement in productivity.
The company anticipates future benefits as additional integration is completed, the data accuracy level is increased, and additional processes are automated.
"NetCracker takes great pride in hearing the results from Bité GSM," said Andrew Feinberg, President and CEO of NetCracker Technology. "With NetCracker, Bité has achieved significant savings on internal operations. In addition, Bité is continuing to expand the use of NetCracker within their OSS."
NetCracker solutions enable service providers to automate and streamline inventory management and provisioning processes and manage telecommunications assets efficiently throughout their entire life-cycle. NetCracker's suite of OSS solutions includes Network Inventory Management, Auto Design & Assign, Network Discovery and Reconciliation, Order Management, Asset Management and its unique Outside Plant module. At the core of the NetCracker application is the 100% Web-based NetCracker OSS Engine, which includes NetCracker's workflow and facilitates information-sharing among NetCracker products and third party applications. Architecturally open, NetCracker solutions can seamlessly integrate with any OSS component including commercial-off-the-shelf software as well as homegrown applications.
