NetCracker TOMS Solution Upgrade to Improve Videotrons Infrastructure Management

NetCracker’s Newest TOMS Release to Reduce Costs and Enhance Efficiency of Network Operations

WALTHAM, MA December 3, 2012 NetCracker Technology announced today that Videotron, a leading Canadian telecommunications provider, has chosen to upgrade its current TOMS (Telecom Operations and Management Solution) software to the latest NetCracker release. NetCracker’s professional services team will deliver the upgrade and provide Videotron with new and improved capabilities to more efficiently manage its network infrastructure.

Upgrading to the latest NetCracker release will enable Videotron to improve its network mapping and maximize its capacity utilization of network resources, including both physical assets and logical connections. This enhanced functionality will drive operational efficiency at the same time that it reduces the overall cost of operating and maintaining Videotron’s network.

“This upgrade will enable us to further increase the return on our network investment by ensuring the highest level of capacity and asset utilization,” said Pierre Roy Porretta, Videotron’s Vice-President Engineering, Research & Development. “Through projects like this, NetCracker has proven to be a strategic business partner, providing us with solutions and technical expertise that help optimize our networks and future proof our product lines.”
NetCracker and Videotron have a long and productive relationship delivering a number of successful implementations and expansions. In previous projects, NetCracker has helped Videotron consolidate its legacy systems and gain the flexibility to roll out and support new services and offerings including quad-play bundles. Most recently, NetCracker completed a data migration of Videotron’s circuit inventory.

“It is a testament to the partnership we have established with Videotron that they have once again chosen to leverage NetCracker’s best-in-class products, professional services, and solution delivery expertise to enhance their infrastructure management capabilities,” said Sylvain Seignour, NetCracker’s Vice President Americas and Europe. “I am confident that this upgrade will be another successful step forward as our combined project teams position Videotron for greater competitive differentiation, stronger customer satisfaction, and enhanced profitability.”
