NetCracker Discovery & Reconciliation

Keeping data updated and synchronized is crucial for streamlining provisioning and assurance processes. To ensure that databases are accurate, service providers must have discovery and reconciliation tools that interface to data sources (like network and element management systems or back office databases) and ensure timely synchronization of data and discrepancy management.

The NetCracker Discovery & Reconciliation module provides interfaces to network management systems and back office databases and ensures that information used across all operations is updated and synchronized.

The NetCracker Discovery process involves the collection of network configuration information and the analysis, transformation, and aggregation of this information to create a consolidated snapshot of the required data.

The NetCracker Reconciliation process employs fully configurable rules to compare collected data with the data stored in the NetCracker Inventory module. Based on these rules, the Discovery & Reconciliation module pinpoints discrepancies in structure, configuration, or connectivity, and then reports or takes action as defined by the rules.

Key benefits include:

  • The introduction of automated data audit processes to maintain data consistency
  • The automation of data update processes and issuing of work orders to resolve conflicts
  • The elimination of data duplication
  • Incremental reconciliation through an intermediate database for data collection and aggregation from multiple sources
  • The reduction of manual effort needed to establish causes of data differences
