Leveraging NEC’s experience and expertise in the billing domain, NetCracker’s Revenue Management solution includes core functionality that covers the areas of Billing Mediation and Rating & Charging. NetCracker Revenue Management is an integral part of the NetCracker TOMS Suite and includes pre-integration with NetCracker Customer Management, Product Management, End-User Devices, and Service Fulfillment components. This significantly reduces integration costs during implementation, brings necessary consistency of data and functions, and enables other beneficial opportunities. NetCracker Revenue Management embodies the critical core characteristics required by a modern convergent billing platform.

Capabilities Overview
Billing Mediation
  • Event Mediation Engine is a rule-based process that collects, decodes, converts, correlates, and enriches CDR records before submitting them to a charging & rating process for further processing.
  • Charging Gateway is a web service provided to third-party service providers/content providers to let them charge subscribers for the use of their value-added services.
Charging & Rating
  • Offline Charging is a component responsible for processing event records including rating, triggering bonus & promotion rules, updating account lifecycle states, and performing additional logic related to revenue sharing and split charging.
  • Online Charging handles real-time charging requests including both session-based and event-based charging. The module supports reserve-debit-credit-rollback-rate operations — and enables Advice-of-Charge, real-time credit limit control, automatic session cut-off, and mid-call notification functionality.
  • Rating & Bonuses enables flexible multi-dimensional rating plans and configurable bonus & promotion rules.
