Position Summary:

The Director, Solution Sales SDN/NFV is part of the global SDN/NFV Overlay Sales and Solution Support team.  This person will meet with C-level customers and be able to define and deliver the business value proposition to executives while being able to explain the technology in detail to our customer's technical team. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend and drive Sales meetings and opportunity qualification assessments
  • Business Case Development and Return of Investment study
  • Management, Executive and C-Level Meetings
  • Business Case presentation creation and delivery
  • Sales proposal inputs and reviews (RFx and Direct Bids)
    • Technical – create and review Executive summary and differentiators
    • Commercial – review and input for pricing (license & services), terms & conditions / contracts
  • Participate in deal negotiations, both internal and external
  • Contributions to Netcracker Thought Leadership
  • History of strategic thinking, technology tracking, integration planning, anticipation of customer and market direction changes and team leadership
  • Industry event involvement (TMW, SDN World Congress, etc.) and speaking
  • Extensive travel required to work with Customers. On-site Netcracker teams and off-site teams. Role may be regionally based or global depending on the position and needs. This role interacts with many resources beyond sales and teamwork is critical. Additional key Netcracker team interaction points beyond account managers, direct sales and overlay sales include:
    • Bid Management
    • Solution Delivery Executives and Program Managers / Project Managers
    • Solution Architects and Business Analysts
    • Inside Sales
    • CTO
    • Legal Department
    • PMO / SOW Approval
    • Engineering Managers

General customer interaction levels expected:

  • VP of Business Unit

  • CMO, CSO, CIO, CTO
  • IT VP’s & Directors
  • Network and Product VP’s & Directors

  • Business consulting
  • Telecommunications Industry
    • Wireline, wireless, cable operators
    • Network Technologies (LTE, 3G, IP, Optical, xDSL, etc.)
    • Telco business processes related to BSS and OSS operations
  • OSS Software
    • Order Management, Fulfillment, Assurance
    • IaaS, SaaS, Managed Services
  • Optical / IP Network Domain
  • ICT Operations
  • SDN / NFV Domain Experience and Expertise
  • Developing and Executing Strategies for complex Service
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate across departments, teams, and cultures
  • Ability to effectively communicate to customer executives
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 80-90%
