Netcracker Technology is looking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer (Linux) to be based out of our office in downtown Cincinnati. In this role, you'll be managing a DevOps environments and will be responsible for technically supporting the continuous integration processes, software change and configuration management services throughout the company. The successful candidate will be very familiar with Linux server administration and source code management system configuration and maintenance.
Provides operational support for mission critical systems (Internal and Managed Services);
Maintenance of hardware and software configurations for Red Hat enterprise systems / Oracle Linux;
Build, implement and maintain system-level software packages such as OS, Clustering, disk, file management, backup, web applications, DNS, LDAP;
Configure and troubleshoot applications, third-party systems and in-house developed applications;
Develop, install and maintain utility programs / Shell Scripts to manage application start, stop, end-of-day, monitoring and failure/recovery.
Gather requirements and implement changes by following certain procedures.
Support all aspects of the project life-cycle through ITIL based Configuration, Change, Service, Incident and Problem management.
Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems and occasionally work alternate shift / weekend.
Experience & Requirements:
5+ years relevant experience as a Linux Network/Systems Administrator (not only on L1 and L2 technical support levels but on the level 3 too).
Linux knowledge has to be at least at a certifiable level in Red Hat (Unix knowledge is a plus).
Good systems administration skills such as the ability to install and configure new physical and virtual Linux servers, the ability to analyze and optimize performance on a Linux server.
Experience with scripting languages (shells, perl, python, etc).
Experience with multipath software (iSCSI or Fibre Channel).
Ability to work shifts
Additional Experience (preferred, not required):
Experience with programming languages.
Experience with various clusters (pacemaker, Veritas Cluster, Oracle RAC, etc).
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, VSphere, qemu/kvm, XEN.
Experience with automate systems configurations such as Puppet, Chef, etc.
Experience in OpenStack.
Bachelor’s degree required (BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience required)
