This position is responsible for
Managing problems and tasks;
Managing incidents related to application, database, middleware or cloud infrastructure;
Focal point for the environment issues;
Conducting and delivering Root Cause Analysis;
Monitoring security patches availability, assessing risks and ensuring timely deployment of patches;
Reviewing and approving changes as part of CAB;
Creating maintenance window plan;
Ensuring resources are available for scheduled activities;
Monitoring and planning environment capacity;
Delivering capacity report to the customer;
Providing introductory trainings to newcomers;
Creating and maintaining documentation such as infrastructure design specifications and diagrams, operational guides and methodology documentation;
Liaising with vendors for issues, bugs, etc;
Defining backup and data retention schemes;
Working with Customer Support, Professional Services, QA and Development teams to resolve application issues;
Client interface for communications regarding Production Operations.
This position requires the ability to travel up to 5% of time on short business trips to client sites located within the U.S. Additional worksites located in Charlotte, NC and Maryland Heights, MO.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, PLUS at least five years of experience as an Information Technology Engineer or related occupation.
Experience with enterprise Linux systems administration at level to understand principles of resource allocation and monitoring, system startup sequence, system configuration;
Understanding principles of TCP/IP, routing, application network traffic balancing and failover;
Experience with Oracle Weblogic or Jboss, Java application deployment and configuration including highly available configurations;
Experience with micro services architecture (RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes);
Experience in managing applications with external authentication providers (i.e. LDAP, MS AD, SSO);
Experience with Java application performance issues analysis and liaising with development on the resolution;
Experience with scripting languages including: SH, Perl or Python, SQL;
Understanding principles of the database operation and administration;
Oracle DBA skills;
Understanding principles of PKI/Certificates;
Experience in supporting large scale, mission critical 7 x 24 solutions;
Telecom- OSS/BSS domain experience;
Understanding of Continuous Delivery and DevOps methods;
Experience with DevOps tools Jenkins, Ansible, Git;
Experience in implementing monitoring of the business applications;
Knowledge of ITIL;
Ability to lead implementation of IT environments per design specifications;
Ability to travel on short business trips to client sites located within the U.S. (5%).
