Position Summary:

This position can be remote, located anywhere within the East or Central Time Zones.

The Senior Security Design Manager will report into our Global Security Organization (GSO). This role will define Windows Active Directory (AD) architecture, road mapping and support processes within the Netcracker enterprise. The individual in this role will manage the AD environment, including defining and maintaining the AD structure, resolving AD issues, integration with our security tools and systems (including our secure customer support environments), and act as a subject matter expert for our support teams and customer environments.  The individual in this role will be expected to act as an escalation point and a mentor to junior level resources on the team. To be considered for the role, candidates must demonstrate strong technical and communication skills, ability to design and implement critical global infrastructure platforms, experience in managing a team, and have previously supported a fast-moving enterprise environment. This position will manage a small global team. The ideal candidate will be someone who can balance managerial responsibilities with their hands-on security design expertise.

Essential Functions

  • Has final decision making authority over the design and architecture of Netcracker’s Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Implement scalable solutions to support critical infrastructure services running in Active Directory, such as LDAP, Centrify, DNS, and authentication and identity solutions
  • Design, document, test, and implement appropriate backup and disaster-recovery mechanisms for all Microsoft enterprise platforms (Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, etc.)
  • Design and implement Microsoft Server solutions including Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server.  This will include solution design, configuration, security hardening, capacity planning, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Continually improve processes through automation using PowerShell or other scripting languages to optimize, clean-up, and secure our Active Directory platform
  • Assist the GSO team in identifying security risks, responding to internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory and certification entities.
  • Work closely with end-user support teams, security teams, and IT infrastructure team engineers to structure and define appropriate domain structure, sites, services, trusts, and OU/GPO hierarchy to support all elements of end-user, desktop, server and core processing platforms
  • Perform root-cause analysis of complex issues ranging through hardware, operating system, application, network, and information security platforms while working closely with a variety of infrastructure teams and business users to quickly arrive at inventive and long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with Governance, Risk and Compliance to mitigate vulnerabilities, define and implement security policies and baseline standards
  • Be forward looking, and Identify opportunities to improve and automate the environment and operational efficiency across the enterprise
  • Manage, lead and train the Security Design team
  • Maintain and improve a successful and positive culture that is evidenced by low attrition, high employee morale and exceptional individual and team performance.

Job Requirements

  • Must have experience managing a team of direct reports
  • Previous experience managing remote employees on a global scale is ideal
  • Expert in all phases of Active Directory design and engineering within multi-tenant environments
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows server versions 2008-2019
  • Strong knowledge of directory services and related technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, LDAP/LDAPS, Centrify, and other associated tools.
  • Experience with Active Directory Federation Services
  • Knowledge of remote desktop solutions such as Citrix VDI, and Microsoft Terminal Services
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare and Exchange
  • Architectural knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure components, including routing, firewalls, servers, and enterprise storage/SANs.  Able to resolve highly complex technical problems at the enterprise level
  • Experience delivering IT solutions using industry leading security best practices. Possesses a "security-first" mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies, and the ability to assist with designing all layers of an environment.
  • Experience with establishing Access Management programs that incorporates AD and other industry leading tools.
  • Experience with Identity Access Management Tools, especially leading Access Management implementation projects is ideal
  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration experience is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of technical/business environment with the ability to engage with internal customers without direction
  • Must have strong focus on internal and external customer requirements
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively serve as a leader and evangelist across the enterprise
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable making formal presentations to senior IT management and executive level clients
  • Ability to partner with vendors, external contacts and industry standards organizations to deliver technical solutions
  • Must have appropriate skills with the standard workstation software utilized to perform daily duties, e. g., Word, Excel, Visio, etc.

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems or a related field.
