Position Summary:

As a Lead DevOps Engineer with Netcracker, you will lead the planning and deployment of Netcracker application's within our and/or our client's cloud platform and virtualized infrastructure. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Hands on involvement in automation for Customer Solutions, ownership all the way from Assessment and Design to Production.
  • Assign tasks to DevOps Engineers according to the plan and monitor execution progress for these tasks.
  • Continuously improve the DevOps toolset, Architecture and Processes.
  • Troubleshoot applications on Netcracker, third party cloud PaaS platforms, and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Deploy Netcracker PaaS platform based on OpenShift and Kubernetes, Openstack.
  • Create templates, containers, deployment configuration files,
  • tweak configuration of monitoring tools based on requirements from SRE and OPs Teams

Experience & Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in DevOps domain.
  • Experience in PaaS implementation projects as system engineer;
  • Knowledge and experience in management of containerized applications: Kubernetes, Docker,
  • Experience in Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian);
  • Experience in build or support of highly available solutions with Linux platform;
  • Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies: KVM, VMware;
  • Understanding of Continuous Delivery and DevOps methods;
  • Knowledge and experience in scripting (Ansible, bash).
  • Knowledge and experience with automation tools (Jenkins).
  • Knowledge and experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Icinga etc.).

Nice to have skills (any of the following competences):

  • Understanding of IaaS, PaaS service delivery
  • Knowledge of cloud storage file systems (CEPH, GlusterFS, S3 compatible Storage);
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL database, JBoss or Wildfly application server
  • Knowledge of HAproxy, Pacemaker, Corosync
  • Knowledge and experience in SDN, VNF;
  • Understanding of network protocols;
  • Understanding of enterprise network architecture;
  • Experience in configuration management of medium and large environments with Jenkins, Puppet, salt automation tools (installation, writing manifests, troubleshooting, etc.);
  • Experience in network equipment configuration: Cisco, Juniper;
  • Awareness of telecom standards: ETSI NFV, 3GPP, EPC, IMS, TMS.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Ruby)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other Technical Engineering discipline.
