Netcracker Technology is looking to hire a Graduate Software Developer to be part of our International Centre of Expertise (ICE) team, located in Cambridge, United Kingdom. This role involves troubleshooting of software issues and developing software solutions in a variety of programing languages along with developing and supporting specialised toolsets. You will be working in a respected international team with experience and knowledge to provide innovative coding solutions and technical consultancy to major Telecommunications and Utilities businesses around the world. You will become familiar with the technologies that power the Cloud era, including PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Kubernetes, Docker developing in Java, PLSQL and Shell scripting. You will develop the skills needed to operate in a fast-paced software development environment. The person selected will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s Java based hardware sizing toolset as well as providing highly tuned system upgrade packages. In addition, coding production fixes and supporting production systems may also be required. This role is technically challenging and requires excellent problem solving and technical skills.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver and test specialised upgrade code
Develop and deliver and test Java based used products for hardware sizing
Assist with investigations and debugging of complex issues
Work on production issues, in production timelines
Ensure completion of issues within established SLAs.
Visit customer site and provide On-site consultancy (when COVID-19 allows).
Experience and Requirements:
We are looking for a talented individual who has received a strong education in a STEM subject. An education that will form the foundation on which we can build the technical skills and knowledge needed to succeed within Netcracker as a software developer.
We require A Bachelor degree or higher in numerate discipline such as computer science, mathematics, the sciences or engineering with exposure to programming and/or data analysis through the course of your studies. We value candidates that show raw intelligence, problem solving skills and an ability to learn over ones which have existing teachable skills without these attributes.
Experience in designing and developing software solutions ( Go , Java preferred )
Knowledge of basic principles of software development data structures ,algorithms and common software design principals
Basic understanding of Unix/Linux
Basic Knowledge of Databases (RDBMS)
Willingness to learn
Demonstrable problem solving skills
Strong work ethic
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English (Other languages a bonus)
Basic understanding of cloud computing
Experience in using public clouds
Experience of Cassandra and PostgreSQL
Experience in working with large data sets
Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, computer sciences, mathematics, engineering or a similar field
