The Windows Operations Engineer will report into our Global Security Organization (GSO). This role will be responsible for supporting dedicated environments which are utilized for providing 24x7 support to our Customers, and the users who are working within those environments. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting the Windows infrastructure - including Active Directory user and group management, Access Management processes and related systems, Windows servers, and installation and support of applications and security tools. The individual in this role will also be responsible for providing L2 support to remediate issues reported by users. To be considered for the role, candidates must demonstrate strong technical and communication skills, ability to implement and support critical global infrastructure platforms, and have previously supported a fast-moving enterprise environment.
This position can sit remote within the United States, preferably within the Eastern or Central time zones.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provide Level 2 Support for user issues which have been escalated by the IT Support team.
Fulfill access requests which have been approved by our Access Management team
Maintain Active Directory based assets and manage permissions
Create and assign roles and user rights in accordance with Netcracker security standards
Troubleshoot access provisioning issues including collaboration with multiple teams as needed
Troubleshoot and support various Windows based application and tools
Troubleshoot and support Citrix VDI based issues
Troubleshoot and manage Microsoft DNS records
Maintain CMDB for customer and internal environments
Create internal documentation for processes related to the support and use of the CMDB, secure support environment, and other systems
Provide documentation and response to internal and external audits
Participate in 24/7 on call rotation
Participate in scheduled off hours duties when not on call
Other duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a Corporate IT role
Technical background with Windows systems.
Strong understanding of Windows Active Directory
Knowledge of Citrix VDI, VMWare/Hyper-V, SSO/2FA/Jira based solutions a plus.
Knowledge of IT processes, concepts and practices, particularly around IT security
Ability to create clearly written documentation of processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other Technical Engineering discipline.
