Technical Manager (Application Management)

What will be your responsibilities?

This position is primarily responsible for acting as the technical team leader for Netcracker Professional Services team and for enhancing the relationship with the client and leading local development teams. 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Organize development process on projects according to selected methodology (agile, waterfall, etc.)
  • Manage several development teams: allocate resources, distribute tasks within the team, control the results;
  • Participate in resolution of the complex issues in such areas as integration interface, system performance or environment related;
  • Carry out support and development projects through the full cycle starting from feature/CR requirements gathering up to implementation and documentation preparation;
  • Manage and deliver service and functional change requests on time and on a budget without compromising quality;
  • Manage internal and external technical communications and task flows around the software delivery process, carry out technical meetings, phone calls, conferences, presentations;
  • Perform software release management and change management functions as required;
  • Manage development environments;

 Skills & Requirements: 

  •  Minimum of 2+ years experience with technical management  (preferably in software application support)
  •  Knowledge of Java/JakartaEE/Spring;
  • Knowledge of containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift);
  • Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra DB);
  • Knowledge of DevOps methods (Jenkins, Git, Artifactory);
  • Linux knowledge (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) at least on a confident user level;
  • Experience in dealing with version control systems;
  • Successful experience managing IT projects;
  • Spoken and written English, other languages considered a plus;
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to assume a leadership role; owning the job;
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Consistently sound level of judgment and professional conduct;
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet challenging deadlines;
  • Knowledge of SW development/implementation methodology (Agile, Waterfall);
  • Previous experience at least 3 working as a developer/lead developer;

 Would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of OSS/BSS solutions;
  • Enterprise software, telecommunications or call center background;
  • Experience in Monitoring/Alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix)
  • Experience in performance troubleshooting (analyzing Heap dumps, SAR, AWR reports, GC logs, thread dumps);
  • Knowledge and experience in scripting (Ansible, bash);
  • Knowledge of Graylog

 Education:

  • S. \ M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related field
