Addressing Common Problems for Scaling SD-WAN

Hear how Netcracker can solve this issue with an integrated multivendor approach that enables seamless service orchestration.

At MEF19 in Los Angeles, one of the key highlights from the majority of the conference speakers was the initial success of SD-WAN services as a new market offering for customers. With price points well below that of traditional MPLS, the interest in creating similar levels of connectivity using virtual services was a no-brainer. However, SD-WAN services have become more pervasive, and the challenges of delivery have become more noticeable as a result. First and foremost, scaling to meet enterprise customer demand has proven challenging. Secondly, initial investments to enable SD-WAN have typically come from a single vendor. Today, however, enterprises and CSPs want a choice of vendors for SD-WAN and other related value-added services, which in turn creates its own challenges around integration and interoperability, particularly when it comes to orchestration. Lastly, there is the issue of addressing the holistic changes in the transport network layer, where the network needs to be modernized but doesn’t support SDN/NFV related service options.

Watch Susan White, Head of SDN/NFV Strategy & Marketing, Netcracker Technology, as she discusses some of the common challenges that service providers are facing today with SD-WAN deployments, transport network modernization and service orchestration. She also discusses Netcracker's participation in an award-winning MEF 3.0 Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstration on "Orchestrated Virtualized Multivendor SD-WAN Services" that leverages LSO Presto APIs.

Learn more about our involvement in the multivendor MEF 3.0 PoC demonstration, where NEC and Netcracker Technology,  along with ADVA, Spirent, NTT Communications, Silver Peak and Versa came together to demonstrate a PoC to allay  fears around the SD-WAN service lifecycle and show how service flexibility can still be prioritized in a multivendor environment. You can find out more about our partner PoCs and use cases by visiting our Partner Ecosystem.
