NEC/Netcracker NaaS helps Tier 1 EMEA service provider rapidly launch virtualized services for global enterprise markets.
October 11, 2017
A leading Tier 1 service provider turned to NEC/Netcracker to drive its strategic transformation program, looking to commercialize its virtual security offering, enter new markets and offer a one-stop shop for virtualized enterprise services. While doing so, the service provider aimed to improve operational KPIs like cost to serve, service delivery times and service availability in order to enhance end-to-end customer journeys.
The initiative enabled the EMEA-based service provider to roll out a variety of virtual security services quickly, including virtual network firewall, web filtering, threat protection and application control functions. The launch, however, had to take place on a platform that would simplify future launches and provide the necessary business capabilities to help the service provider commercialize VNFs into market-ready services.
Leveraging Agile and DevOps methodologies, NEC/Netcracker delivered a full-stack MANO solution to the service provider in just 12 weeks. The solution leverages NEC/Netcracker's Agile Virtualization Platform and Practice (AVP), which includes critical components such as Network and Service Orchestration, Hybrid Resource Management, Service Management and VNF License Management. The scope also includes next-gen BSS components like a self-service portal and automated order fulfillment, along with customer and partner management capabilities. Meanwhile, NEC/Netcracker's Ecosystem 2.0 program made the VNF and service onboarding process extremely quick, helping to meet an aggressive deployment deadline.
The service provider now has access to a full-stack solution with pre-integrated VNFs. The solution also gives the service provider's enterprise customers direct access to VNF settings from a self-service portal and the ability to quickly make operational changes.
